PARIS! I can't believe we were there just two weeks ago!

Travel tip #1~ If you plan on taking kids with you to Paris, the Marais district may not be the best choice, unless you want to take the chance of having 'ladies of the night' near your front door step. Although some people say it's the 'real' Paris, I would suggest paying a a little more money and staying near the Eifel Tower or just outside the city (cheaper) and taking the metro in. The metro in Paris is really easy to use. 

First stop...One of Paris's oldest markets for fresh foods and cooked dishes is in the Marais district. From Moroccan, to African, Italien, and Middle Eastern cuisine, you won't leave hungry. We got the Moroccan food and it was really tasty and a very cool atmosphere, while crazy finding a seat, and busy!

The next day, we took a day trip to Giverny and I'm so glad we did. It was amazing to see Monet's hometown and his familie's beautiful gardens! 

Travel Tip #2~ If you want to go to Monet's Garden's in Giverny, there are a few ways that you can get there. You can either pay for a day tour (pretty expensive), or you can plan the day for yourself. If you go by yourself, you can rent a car, or if you don't have a car, you will need to take the Gare St. Lazare train (in Paris) to Vernon. We purchased our train tickets the day of our trip. Be sure to check the train schedule ahead of time, so you know when it departs for Vernon. We took the first train that left St. Gare Lazare around 10am to Vernon. Vernon is about 4 km away from Giverny. After arriving in Vernon, we took a taxi from the train station to get to the Gardens in Giverny for 20 euro. Make sure to check when ordering your tickets when the return departing times are. They may only run two or three times back to Gare St. Lazare.

We decided to save 20 euro and enjoy the nice 4 km walk back to the train station.  We lightened our load too by drinking a bottle of wine. Our plastic wine glasses came to good use!
