Wine Hike in the Rheingau

The wine hike (Wein Wanderung) was beautiful! This year it happened to fall on my birthday. We thought it would rain but it didn't, so I was really happy when the sun came out to play!

There are many wine hikes all over the Rheingau region this time if year. Check out http://www.weinwanderung.net/alle-weinwanderung/ for a list of hikes. Whether you live here, or simply visiting, it is definitely worth checking out and taking a walk with the locals. There are breathtaking views, interesting foods, and of course great wines at every stand.  We had wild boar (wildschwein) sausage with a cranberry-mustard sauce (preiselbeeren-zenf) sauce. 

There is no wine hike without the Port-a-John's. Make sure to bring some kleenex. 😜

Pace had no kindergarten but the others had school so he was my date. We had such an amazing day together.
